Field Events

Field days

ITGA field days provide Association members and the wider forestry community with the opportunity to see forest management practices first hand and to discuss management options and forestry practices with other forest growers.
Timber growers attending the ITGA field days also appreciate the opportunity to raise questions with forestry professionals and experts. ITGA field days cover a wide range of topics. The geographical spread of the field events ensure that a large cross section of our membership and forest owners are reached.

Upcoming Events

Our next field day in association with Irish Forestry Unit Trust will take place on Friday 12th July To Knockshanvo Woodlands & the 12 O'Clock Hills Project, Broadford, Co. Clare.

ITGA Members are circulated with field day itineraries by post prior to each event.

Conferences / Seminars / Webinars

Conferences, Seminars and Webinars help influence forest policy and create greater awareness of forestry issues among members, specialist groups, the media, politicians and the general public.
ITGA collaborates and co-operates with other forestry organisations in hosting such events.
ITGA hosted a Conference Centre at the heart of the 2011 and 2013 Irish Forestry, Woodland and Bio-energy Shows. ITGA also participated in the Timber 2015 & Timber 2017 Forestry Shows.
When field events and indoor conferences and meetings were no longer feasible due to the Covid-19 pandemic, alternative solutions were sought to provide such services to members. The resulting 2020 and 2021 FORESTRY.IE Insights webinar series were a great success and were followed by further Webinar sessions in 2022 on a wide range of topics. Recordings of these Webinars were made available to members on this website (See the Webinar page in the Membership tab) and are also available on www.forestry.ie/insights
